The RNLI relies on the quality of our engineering

Armada Engineering has carried out a number of flagship lifeboat projects for the RNLI.

The RNLI’s fleet of 350 lifeboats carries out rescue operations across 19,000 miles of coastline in the UK and Ireland, together with some very busy stretches of inland waterway. The RNLI needs to be certain that its equipment will operate safely, efficiently and reliably.

For the RNLI we have:

• Designed and built a hydraulic boat transfer for the lifeboat station at Sennen. The lifeboat is recovered on one slipway and launched on another. Armada's hydraulic trolley transfers it between slips and ensures it can be launched again quickly.
• Created custom-designed lifting mechanisms for three of their inshore lifeboat stations plus the prestigious Poole station, located near to RNLI headquarters. You can see a case study on this project here.
• Provided consultancy and maintenance services for the boatlifts at RNLI lifeboat stations on the Thames.

As well as providing total reliability in operation, the quality and precision of our engineering solutions helps to avoid any unnecessary wear and tear to these precious craft.
