Armada assist Padstow Boatyard in building the Phoenix 10 Catamaran
Armada Engineering are proud to have supplied two 230hp John Deere commercial 6068tfm50 Engines with ZF 280a gearboxes and live PTO for an exciting new build carried out by Padstow Boatyard, Cornwall.
The engines will be used in the new
Phoenix 10 Catamaran. This inspiring new build is driven by the current demand
for smaller inshore fishing vessels. The Phoenix 10 rises to the challenge,
providing a viable option for those wanting to get started in commercial
fishing or experienced fishermen looking for a smaller vessel due to licensing
purposes.
The wheelhouse is situated at the
very front of the vessel allowing for a large 30 meter squared working deck
suitable for both potting and netting. This vessel would equally serve as a great
tourist or dive boat.
The John Deere Marine engines supplied by Armada have been
extensively modified to meet the customer requirements. The 230hp engines will
allow the Phoenix 10 to achieve speeds of around 20 knots. As well as the
engines and gearboxes Armada Engineering are also providing state-of-the-art
hydraulics and a Spencer Carter hauling package for the Phoenix 10.
“We have formed a good
relationship with Armada Engineering over the years, working with them on
several successful builds and fitouts where they have supplied hydraulic
packages. Their expert knowledge, advice and great ongoing support is the
reason they are our partner of choice for engines, hydraulics and hauling
equipment and will be for many years to come.” - Jonathan Goode-Crowe,
Business Manager at Padstow Boatyard

open new opportunities in the marine industry.
