Complete Crane and Passerelle Overhaul

Armada Engineering completed the removal, overhaul, and reinstallation of a crane and passerelle on board a 53m yacht inside MB92 Barcelona. This was with the support of Nautical Structures who supplied spare parts and technical assistance.

Our engineers safely removed the two pieces of equipment, stripped all parts ready for painting, resealed the cylinders, fitted all new hoses, bushes and bearings, reassembled and installed the crane and passerelle back onto the motor yacht, followed by function testing. During the commissioning of the install it was noted that the passerelle door was fouling the frame as it closed. This had been a long-standing issue; our engineers investigated the matter and after some adjustment we had the door closing perfectly.

The Captain took a minute to thank the team for all the care and hard work put in, "As always these overhauls become a detailed and difficult procedure. Both (crane and passerelle) are working great and are as good as when the boat was launched 10 years ago. Special thanks for the time you spent getting the shell door aligned and closing perfectly. I don't think the shell door worked as flawlessly at the launch and it's been a nuisance for many years. It's nice to have it all working properly. I appreciate all the effort - Thank you."
